ADA - Ecological Architecture Design Consulting (Suzhou) Co. Ltd

The ADA (Alternative Architectural Approach) architectural consultancy, set up in France in 1990 by architect Frédéric Leconte, has specialised in High Environmental Quality construction design since 1995. Our agency participated in the HEQ Caudry High School (France) competition in 1996, then in the HEQ "Pays de Condé" High School (France) competition in 2003, which we won in association with the Dodat & Villain consultancy, Valenciennes, France.

Our participation in these environmentally-friendly "pilot" projects, and our collaboration in various HEQ projects since then, has given us a regional reputation and a certain level of expertise which we share on the occasion of training programmes, conferences and consulting missions.

Our 1st mission in China for the occasion of the POLLUTEC CHINA trade fair in November 2004

With the objective of promoting the know-how of regional businesses and developing their presence on targeted international markets, the Cd2e and the Regional Council's AREX commission organised group participation, as exhibitors, in the Pollutec China Trade Fair, which was held in Shanghai from November 3rd to 5th 2004. With encouragement from these two organisations, we decided to participate in this operation with 3 other regional companies specialised in eco-development: SOLENER, V2R and GREEN TOUCH.

Upstream from the trade-fair, two days of work and meetings organised by the Shanghai Economic Commission provided the opportunity to initiate contacts with a dozen local operators: French architectural consultancies located in Shanghai, Chinese architectural and design institutes, representatives of environmental protection associations and local authorities…

Our project: To export HIGH ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY to CHINA

We received encouragement at the trade fair from the municipality of Suzhou (province of Jiangsu), a city of 5.90 million inhabitants 50km from Shanghai, with an ambition to become a showcase of technology and environment sectors. We return every month to develop our contacts.

Backed by Cd2e, represented by Mr. Tristan Debuigne and by the regional export support commission, represented by Mr. Eugène Johnson who provides us with assistance before and after each project, we decided to set up a subsidiary in February 2005 in the new ecological industrial park within the New and High Technology Industrial Development Zone in Suzhou (SND) which will be called: ADA - Ecological Architecture Design Consulting (Suzhou) Co. Ltd.

In March 2005, the Suzhou development zone assigned us a design project for a building with a strong environmental focus: an Environmental Monitoring Station to monitor the Quality of Air and Water in the new zone.
